Effective Counsellor is compassionate, warm, and patient therapist who can listen to the client’s needs. As a Counsellor / Social Worker in Private Practice, Jayani uses a holistic approach that is tailored to clients unique and individual circumstances. Using evidence-based psychological therapies and techniques to improve client’s emotional wellbeing.
Jayani has extensive experience in social services and working with clients experiencing mental health concerns, as well as disability, aged care, complex medical care needs, palliative care, and domestic violence. She has worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, clients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
Jayani is a strong advocate for social justice. Her approach is based on the importance of recognizing the lived experiences of the client. She respects their personal resourcefulness, individuality, strengths, resilience, and abilities. Jayani believes the client is the “expert” in their own situation. Providing a person-centred approach to client needs thereby maximizing the client’s involvement in decision-making, rather than viewing them as passive recipients of care as well as improving their quality of life.
Jayani is an experienced and compassionate Counsellor, who is also a committed person and always demonstrated honesty, reliability, responsibility, and adherence to the moral and ethical principles of human services, always aiming for the best outcome for the clients, motivated by the achievement of positive change in the lives of client.
Accredited Mental Health Social Workers (AMHSW) are recognised allied health providers with Medicare Australia and other programs, delivering clinical mental health services utilising a range of evidence-based interventions assisting people with wide range of mental health conditions.
Accredited Mental Health Social Workers are expected to complete advanced training in providing focus-psychological strategies, they are highly skilled and effective counsellors. Same as the psychologists, they are also required to complete ongoing professional development tasks (such as training and supervision) to maintain their accreditation.

Who is AMHSW (Counsellors)
AMHSW is a practitioner who is trained to provide clinical mental health services such as counselling and therapy. After completion degree or a post graduate degree to be an AMHSW, a social worker must complete numerous work experience in mental health setting and at least receive two years of extra training and supervision.
AMHSWs are expected to complete advanced training in providing focus-psychological strategies means they are highly skilled and effective counsellors.
